This is my final model based on Trial #3. I used foam board for the box, and painted the box black (I left the edges white as a way to portray the light seeping through while my eyes are closed). I continued to use thick paper for the layers as it was the best material to hold it’s shape while retaining its thinness so that it was possible to sew through. I used wire in the middle of the layers so I could manipulate its shape. Although it is not visible in the photograph, the paper is separated into two strips, as the first one is more condensed and has tighter folds, as our minds often create more realistic thoughts. The second strip on the other hand is more loose and free flowing, much like how our dreams have no restrictions.
An inside view of the box.
